PHISHING Phone call about Compromised Card
Several of our customers received a Phishing phone call this past weekend, 3/2/2013 or 3/3/2013, telling them that their card was compromised and that they needed to respond to the phone call to reactivate their card. This phone call was NOT made by Pioneer Bank & Trust or any of the service companies we use for your debit card. If you did not respond to the phone call, no further action is needed. If you responded to the phone call and provided card information when trying to reactivate your card, please contact us at once as your card information has now been compromised.
Most of the customers who have reported this phone call have a cell phone number with a 210 prefix. Pioneer Bank & Trust uses a service provider to verify individual transactions that are suspicious but will not ask you to enter your card number when verifying the transaction. You would be asked if you completed the transaction but no card information would be requested.
