Credit Card Processing

Today, most consumers prefer the convenience of paying for purchases with credit cards. If your business does not accept credit cards it is losing out on a percentage of potential sales.

Pioneer Bank & Trust can help you offer your customers this fast and convenient payment method. There are two methods of accepting credit card payment, and we offer you a choice.

Traditional (paper) Merchant

This is the option chosen by most merchants with lower sales volumes. You are given a supply of vouchers and envelopes. You simply imprint the customer's card, call for an authorization, accumulate the receipts and deposit them at Pioneer Bank & Trust in a manner similar to your checks or cash.

Electronic Transaction Capture

This option puts computer technology and today's instant communication to work for you. An electronic credit card terminal is used at your checkout counter. This terminal stores and transmits your credit card sale when the customer's card is “swiped” through the terminal. An authorization is obtained electronically via telephone line and is displayed to verify each sale. An optional printer is also available to speed up each transaction. This option is becoming much more popular as merchants understand the convenience and low cost of electronic processing.

To process credit card sales, all merchants must have some basic equipment. Whether you choose electronic processing or paper processing, Pioneer Bank & Trust will provide you with new credit card processing equipment at our cost.

Every financial institution that offers merchant credit card processing provides the service for a fee. Pioneer Bank & Trust is no exception. This fee is called the Discount Rate. The Discount Rate is calculated by a formula based on your projected annual volume and your average ticket size. The amount may vary based on those factors.
